The four-round reality of Indian startup interviews and the exact prep framework we use.
Getting shortlisted is half the battle. The other half is the interview loop. Here's the framework we use at Softin Tech's placement bootcamp.
Most Indian startups run four rounds:
Solve 150 medium-level LeetCode problems across arrays, strings, hash maps, trees and graphs. That's it. Don't go deep into DP unless the role is FAANG-adjacent. For Indian startups, 150 mediums are enough.
You won't get a full system design round as a fresher. But you'll get "how would you build X" questions. Prep four canonical designs:
Know the tradeoffs. Draw on a whiteboard.
Prepare four stories that show:
Use STAR format: Situation, Task, Action, Result. Practice out loud until it flows.
Practice for 90 minutes daily for eight weeks. That's it. Consistency beats binge-prep every single time. Our placement cohorts that stuck to 90 minutes daily out-performed those who tried "12-hour weekend marathons" by every metric.
Book at least six mock interviews before your first real one. Softin Tech runs weekly mocks with engineers from CodeNest, DevSprint, ByteCraft. Free for cohort members.
